The Child Support Standards Act is a federal law that is the same in every state and directs that child support be paid based upon the amount of children of the marriage.
Here’s a breakdown of percentage of income that will be dedicated o child support.
1 child – 17%
2 children – 25%
3 children – 29%
4 children – 31%
5 or more children – 35%.
The amount used to determine the percentages is the non custodial parent’s adjusted annual gross income.
